About the trip

The trip will take place between October 17th and November 7th this year. The purpose of it is to raise money for the charity RP Fighting Blindness whilst experience a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the highest moutain in the world.

I will be going with my friend, Liz, who is personally affected by Retinitus Pigmentosa as are many of her family. We are each hoping to raise £4,500 for the charity as a result of this challenge which will greatly aid them in the work they do - a dual purpose of providing a support community for suffers of this condition and funding medical research into a search for a potential cure for this condition.

On the trek itself, we will climb to an altitude of 5,600 metres (18,370 ft) over a 13 day period. It will be a physically and mentally enduring challenge and one that will require some serious training to prepare for. It all begins here, over the next few months I will attempting to physically prepare for this trip whilst also organising a multitude of events to reach my target of £4,500 in fundraising.

About the fundraising

I can't do this without your support. My main fundraising effort is The Basecamp Jigsaw. Purchase a piece of the jigsaw and allow me to acknowledge your support or advertise your business. The more visitors we get to this site, the more publicity will be generated for us both.
